Notice of Race
1. RULES
| 1.1 | The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing 2009-2012, the rules of entered classes, except as any of these are altered by the sailing instructions. |
| 1.2 | If there is a conflict between languages the English text will take precedence. |
2. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
| 2.1 | The regatta is open to all yachts in the Racing, Cruising and Open class, open sailboats in the Sunfish and Beachcat class, Windsurf and Kitesurf classes. |
| 2.2 | Eligible participants may enter by completing the form on Thursday August 11th 2011 from 4 pm till 7 pm at the registration desk at Cafe Rembrandt, South Beach Mall, Aruba. Late registries will be accepted on Friday August 12 from 4 pm till 5 pm at the registration booth at Eagle Beach. |
3. RATING CERTIFICATES
| 3.1 | Racing class: Your boat must have a valid 2010 or 2011 CSA digital rating certificate. Only these digitally certified certificates are considered valid. Please have this taken care of before coming to registration. |
| 3.2 | Cruising Class/Open Class: Live-aboard and Cruising boats may elect to sail in the Open Class or the Cruising Class under the Simplified CSA Rating Rule. These boats do not need to be measured. Filling out a simple form is all that is required. The idea behind this is to allow live-aboard / cruising boats to join the fun. It is not intended for boats that do a fair amount of racing for high performance boats. |
| 3.3 | The division between classes will be announced at Friday Aug 12th 6:30 pm. Written requests for Redress on ratings and class division will be received till 7 pm and be considered by the RC. The RC decision on this Redress will be announced not later than 9 pm. This decision will be final. |
4. ENTRY FEES
| 4.1 | To complete registration participants must complete registration at the registration desk and paid their entry-fee. |
| 4.2 | Required fees for participation in the Aruba Rembrandt Regatta competition are as follows: US$. 100 – for Yachts (4 goody bags) US$. 50 – for Beachcats (2 goody bags) US$. 25 – for Sunfish (1 goody bag) US$. 25 – for Windsurf and Kitesurf (1 goody bag) Required fee for participation in the Around Aruba Rally and Regatta is US$ 25 per yacht |
5. SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
| 5.1 | The Aruba Rembrandt Regatta races will take place on Saturday Aug 13th and Sunday Aug 14th. |

The awards ceremony for the Aruba Rembrandt Regatta will be on Sunday, Aug 14th, 8:00 p.m. at Eagle Beach.
The Around Aruba Race and Rally will take place on Friday Aug 12. The awards ceremony for the Around Aruba Race will be on Friday, Aug 12, 07:00 pm at Eagle Beach. |
6. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
| 6.1 | The sailing instructions will be available on the day of registration. |
7. VENUE
| 7.1 | Registration is at the regatta office at Cafe Rembrandt, South Beach Mall, Aruba. |
8. SCORING
| 8.1 | For all classes, the low points scoring system according to appendix A will apply. Any number of races completed shall constitute a series. When all planned races are completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores. |
9. PRIZES
| 9.1 | In the Aruba Rembrandt Regatta, awards will be given to: - The 1st, 2nd and 3rd yacht in the Racing, Cruising and Open class. - The 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in Sunfish and Beachcat classes. - The 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in Windsurf and Kitesurf classes. |
10. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
| 10.1 | The organizing committee and any other party involved in the organization and conduct of the Aruba Rembrandt Regatta disclaims any liability for personal injury, personal or material damage whatsoever, sustained prior to, during or after the Aruba Rembrandt Regatta. Your entry in the Aruba Rembrandt Regatta will constitute a declaration of acceptance of all disclaimers made by the regatta. |
